I shared last night at my church about the subject of hearing God. I mentioned that I would be blogging every day this week to help those in attendance take their next step in being present with God. (It’s been a while since I blogged – busy times at the church and at home being a new dad).

One of the ways I believe we are present with God is through prayer. And not just the “laundry-list”, God-here’s-what-you-can-do-for-me-when-you-get-a-moment type of prayers. But the honest, truthful prayers where you let God know the real stuff going on inside you – even though he already knows.

I wrote about prayer in a series I did a couple years ago here on the blog. You can read that post here. I still believe everything I wrote there, so check it out!

Today, I’m spending some time praying through where I’m at and how I feel in front of God. I’m remembering what I said last night – being present with God is more important than being busy for God. And then I’m sitting in His presence because I need to hear from Him. I hope your time leaves you as refreshed as mine did.
